At our Friday Night Cocktail Tasting, my friends and I decided that this is a delicious summer drink that would be perfect to serve with brunch or by the pool. It is a cutie with a cherry garnish. This very light, fun, and fizzy cocktail has only 1 1/4 ounces of alcohol to about seven ounces of mixer. You can increase or decrease the strength of this drink by adjusting the amount of seltzer or club soda. So don't worry, be happy!
This looks prettiest the way Martha does it (orange juice first and then pour everything else over it) but the visual effect doesn't last for more than a minute. So I say make it all ahead in a pitcher EXCEPT for the fizzy part. This makes life easier when you're entertaining. Seltzer or club soda will work - in fact, Polar now makes a pink grapefruit flavored seltzer that would be a terrific topper for this. You can serve it in a medium sized rocks glass or a tall iced tea/collins glass.
